Hy-Vee, Inc. is seeking a Service Manager to keep the store running smoothly by supervising employees across departments and delivering prompt, friendly customer service. You will manage schedules, handle customer issues, oversee merchandising, and ensure compliance with store guidelines.

The role emphasizes developing people, leading by example, and maintaining a positive, accountable store culture in a fast-paced retail environment. Night and weekend shifts are required.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Two or more years of related work experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide prompt, friendly customer service by greeting customers with a smile, learning their names, and ensuring a positive visit.
• Lead by example and maintain positive employee relations across the store.
• Plan, prepare, and adjust work schedules; assign duties and ensure timely completion.
• Supervise and coordinate activities across store areas; fill in during absences.
• Address customer issues promptly and professionally.
• Train staff on store policies and procedures; provide ongoing education on updated policies.
• Evaluate employee performance and recommend promotions, transfers, or dismissals.
• Enforce safety procedures and complete accident/incident reports as needed.
• Order merchandise; verify deliveries; report discrepancies.
• Determine locations of ad and promotional displays; ensure product quality and quantities.
• Compile, store, retrieve, and interpret sales, inventory, and display projections.
• Review personnel records for completeness and accuracy; understand payroll basics.
• Handle cash registers and money-related transactions.
• Suggest cost-reduction strategies and shelf allocation adjustments.
• Maintains confidentiality of pricing, sales, and payroll information.
• Adhere to Hy-Vee policies and store guidelines.
• Report to work as scheduled and on time.
