Hy-Vee is seeking a Service Manager to keep the store running smoothly by supervising staff across departments, ensuring prompt, friendly service and adherence to policy. You will lead by example, manage schedules, handle customer issues, and oversee merchandising and compliance in a fast-paced retail environment.

The role emphasizes developing people, delivering results, and maintaining a safe, customer-focused store atmosphere. Night and weekend shifts may be required to meet store needs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Two or more years of similar or related work experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide prompt, friendly customer service and greet customers with a smile.
• Lead by example and maintain positive employee relations store-wide.
• Plan and adjust work schedules and assign duties to staff.
• Supervise store activities in the Department Manager's absence and perform tasks as needed.
• Address customer issues promptly and professionally.
• Train staff on store policies and procedures; provide ongoing education.
• Evaluate performance and recommend personnel actions such as promotions/ transfers.
• Enforce safety procedures to maintain a safe work environment; file incident reports as needed.
• Handle cash registers and related transactions.
• Contribute to cost reduction and merchandising decisions.
• Protect confidential information related to pricing, sales and payroll.
