Job summary

Hy-Vee is seeking a Service Manager to keep the store running smoothly by supervising employees across all departments, ensuring customers receive prompt, friendly service, and leading by example.

You will plan schedules, manage payroll basics, handle customer issues, oversee merchandising and compliance, train staff, evaluate performance, and ensure safety, accuracy, and accountability throughout the store.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent experience required
• Two or more years of similar or related work experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide prompt, friendly customer service by greeting customers with a smile and assisting them as needed
• Lead by example and maintain positive employee relations across the store
• Plan, prepare, and adjust work schedules; assign duties and ensure timely completion
• Supervise store activities and coordinate across departments when needed
• Address customer issues promptly and professionally to maintain satisfaction
• Train staff on store policies and procedures and provide ongoing education
• Evaluate employee performance and recommend promotions/transfers
• Enforce safety procedures and ensure a safe work environment; handle incidents
• Oversee merchandise orders, deliveries, quality, and discrepancies
• Maintain payroll basics and store data reporting for sales and inventory
• Ensure displays meet standards and adapt to ad/promotional needs
• Protect confidential information related to pricing, sales, and wages
• Adhere to Hy-Vee policies and attend scheduled shifts
