Job summary

The Michaels Companies Inc. in Des Moines–Ankeny, IA is seeking a Store Sales Manager to lead a high-performing selling culture across the store, drive sales KPIs, and coach teams to deliver exceptional customer experiences.

You will oversee front-end and service operations, ensure SOP compliance, support in-store programs, and promote Loyalty Rewards, with a focus on maintaining brand standards and efficient daily execution.

Qualifications

• 3+ years retail leadership experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coach front-end selling and service operations to drive sales and customer satisfaction.
• Ensure SOPs and company programs are followed; uphold store standards and policies.
• Coach team on customer experience and selling behaviors to improve conversion.
• Provide Manager-on-Duty coverage and maintain floor leadership.
• Oversee POS and Self-Checkout operations and support smooth transactions.
• Support in-store programs (Balloons, Birthday parties) and events.
• Promote Loyalty Rewards adoption to drive customer retention.
• Drive Omni-channel execution (BOPIS and Same Day Delivery).
• Support Custom Framing operations where applicable.
• Train and develop team members through onboarding and ongoing skill-building.
