The Michaels Companies in Waynesville, NC is hiring a Retail Sales Manager to lead a high-performing selling culture across the store and drive strong sales and customer experience. You will supervise front-end and service operations, coach the team, manage SOPs, and own omni-channel execution including BOPIS, Same Day Delivery, Loyalty programs, and in-store events.

Qualifications

• 3+ years retail leadership experience.
• Ability to stand for long periods and move throughout the store.
• Experience with POS systems and self-checkout.

Responsibilities

• Assist Store Manager in leading SOPs and company programs to ensure compliance.
• Ensure execution of policies and standards; hold team accountable.
• Model and coach customer experience and selling behaviors to drive conversions.
• Provide Manager-on-Duty coverage; maintain floor leadership and service standards.
• Oversee POS and Self-Checkout usage for smooth transactions.
• Oversee events and in-store programs (balloons, birthday parties).
• Promote Loyalty Rewards Program to drive retention and visits.
• Champion MCC/Extend services and protection plans adoption.
• Drive sales and omni-channel service in Knit & Sew Shop and Cut Bar.
• Ensure efficient BOPIS and Same Day Delivery execution.
• Support Custom Framing operations and coordination with frame shop.
• Train and develop team through onboarding and ongoing coaching.
• Partner in Asset Protection to reduce shrink.
