Job summary

Giant Food’s Pharmacy Team is dedicated to delivering safe, precise medication dispensing and exceptional patient care in a retail setting. The Pharmacist will verify prescriptions, counsel patients, and support immunization and MTM services while ensuring regulatory compliance.

This full-time role involves leading pharmacy staff, coordinating with technicians and providers, and optimizing processes to enhance patient outcomes and store health services.

Qualifications

• Pharmacist degree from an accredited institution.
• Active, unrestricted pharmacist license in the employment state.
• Immunization certification (APhA or state-recognized).
• MTM certification where applicable.
• 2-5+ years of retail pharmacy experience (preferred).
• Knowledge of state & federal pharmacy regulations, HIPAA, and controlled substance laws.
• Familiarity with third-party insurance processing and reimbursement practices.

Responsibilities

• Verify prescriptions and counsel patients for safe medication use.
• Oversee pharmacy workflow, inventory, and staff coordination.
• Provide MTM services and immunization support within the store.
• Ensure compliance with regulations and company policies.
• Resolve insurance issues and maintain accurate records.
