Job summary

Giant Food is seeking a Pharmacist to ensure safe and accurate dispensing in a retail setting, while delivering high-quality patient care. The role involves prescription verification, counseling, immunization services, and collaboration with technicians, store leadership, and providers.

The Pharmacist will supervise staff, manage workflow, maintain compliance with regulations, and drive continuous improvement in service levels and performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) from an accredited institution
• Active, unrestricted pharmacist license in the state of employment
• Immunization certification (e.g., APhA or state-recognized equivalent)
• Medication Therapy Management (MTM) certification where applicable
• 2-5+ years of retail pharmacy experience (preferred)
• Previous experience as a Pharmacy Manager, Pharmacist-in-Charge, or Lead Pharmacist
• Proven experience supervising pharmacists, technicians, and support staff
• Knowledge of state and federal pharmacy regulations, HIPAA, and controlled substance laws
• Experience in inventory management, budgeting, and workflow optimization
• Familiarity with third-party insurance processing and reimbursement practices
