Job summary

Giant Food is seeking a Pharmacist to join our DC-area team, providing expert medication dispensing, patient counseling, and clinical services in a retail setting.

The Pharmacist will oversee a pharmacy team, ensure accuracy, support immunization programs, and collaborate with providers to uphold safety and quality standards. A PharmD or BS in Pharmacy with an active license is required, plus MTM and immunization credentials.

Qualifications

• Pharmacist must hold an active, unrestricted state license.
• Immunization certification (APhA or state-recognized).
• Medication Therapy Management (MTM) certification where applicable.
• 2–5+ years of retail pharmacy experience preferred.
• Experience as Pharmacy Manager, Pharmacist-in-Charge, or Lead Pharmacist.

Responsibilities

• Interpret and verify prescriptions, prevent interactions.
• Oversee pharmacy workflow, audits, and documentation.
• Manage budgets, reimbursement, and formulary compliance.
• Provide MTM, immunization services, and patient counseling.
• Lead pharmacy staff, scheduling, and training.
• Ensure compliance with state/federal regulations and HIPAA.
