Job summary

Fifth Third Bank in Michigan is seeking candidates for a Retail Personal Banker I; after a 4-8 week onboarding with rotations in operations and Sales & Service, you’ll earn a certification and begin a role focused on using consultative sales to meet customer financial needs.

You will acquire new households and deepen relationships through lobby leadership, aisle time, and tele-consulting while processing teller transactions and contributing to platform staff.

Qualifications

• College degree or work experience providing transferrable skills, or a combination of education and experience.
• Experience in the financial industry preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to develop comfort level with sales activities to acquire new consumer households and/or cross-sell to existing customers.
• Must be able to demonstrate understanding of advanced math functions for credit and financial analysis.
• Ability to represent Fifth Third Bank professionally in appearance and communication.
• Knowledge of Retail policies and procedures to exercise good judgment.
• This position requires S.A.F.E. Act registration via NMLS.

Responsibilities

• Use consultative sales and Financial Needs Assessment to build customer profiles and identify financial needs.
• Maintain knowledge of Retail products/services and recommend solutions.
• Proactively reach out to customers and set appointments for reviews.
• Cross-sell to existing customers and engage in outside sales activities.
• Establish relationships with Business Partners and refer customers for holistic solutions.
• Meet/exceed customer experience and production goals and drive revenue growth.
• Guide CSRs on sales and referral processes.
• Promote customer satisfaction with a friendly demeanor and professionalism.
• Answer questions, own issues, and protect confidentiality.
• Adhere to Bank policies and ethics, managing risk appropriately.
• Support opening/servicing of Retail products and participate in loan/card processes.
• Assist in opening/closing Financial Center or Bank Mart as directed.
