Job summary

Macy’s, Inc. is seeking a Manager, Business Administration to lead essential activities and colleagues driving store business processes. The role covers interviewing, hiring, staffing, scheduling, budgets, and cash office functions to ensure smooth store operations.

You will collaborate with Store leadership to improve hiring, operations, and the customer experience while coaching peers and developing staff. A dynamic, performance-driven environment awaits.

Qualifications

• Strong leadership to manage activities and colleagues including hiring, training and performance management.
• Proven ability to manage P&L oversight, staffing, budgeting and store profitability.
• Experience in leading hiring, onboarding and retention strategies to reduce turnover.
• Experience in leading training initiatives and ensuring high adoption rates across teams.
• Excellent collaboration, written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Store Manager and Store Leaders to drive Store Scorecard results focusing on hiring, operations and environment.
• Maintain profit through effective staffing, weekend compliance, and controllable expenses.
• Lead in-store hiring process including communicating with applicants, interviewing, and coaching peers.
• Interview, hire, train, coach, develop, evaluate, and discipline direct reports.
• Establish work strategies, manage performance and address complaints.
• Direct onboarding and orientation to improve candidate experience.
• Ensure rapid learning curve and reduce turnover through effective onboarding.
• Lead training and deployment of tech and store-wide process initiatives, including annual training.
• Track user experience and prioritize enhancements with Central Team.
• Manage hours, payroll, non-payroll expenses, cash office and inventory.
• Maximize sales and minimize expenses.
• Oversee monthly P&L, including selling costs and hourly rate compliance.
• Develop action plans to drive profitability.
• Strategize with Workforce Central on staffing and scheduling.
• Maintain balanced staffing to meet targets.
• Maintain store shopping environment and conduct monthly housekeeping audits.
• Resolve environment issues and safety concerns with Facilities.
• Oversee select selling areas as needed.
• Foster an inclusive environment strengthening relationships with colleagues, customers and communities.
