Job summary

SpartanNash, a retail solutions leader, seeks a Department Manager for a Family Fare location in Byron Center, MI. You will lead daily store operations, train associates, ensure staffing levels, and drive performance to meet KPIs and company goals.

You will control inventory, verify orders, and supervise stocking, production and schedule adherence while upholding safety and product quality standards. Bilingual Spanish a plus.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED completed.
• Two years of retail experience preferred.
• One-year supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication and bookkeeping skills.
• Good organization, prioritization, decision-making and problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day department operations to meet company goals and KPI targets.
• Order and maintain inventory, ensuring freshness and quality.
• Review received orders for amount, quality, weight or count.
• Manage a team handling stocking, production and tasks for accuracy and rotation.
• Maintain knowledge of store products and advertised deals.
• Communicate and execute flight plans and schedules per guidelines.
• Oversee scheduling, labor control, overtime and payroll expense.
• Develop department goals and forecasts; participate in meetings.
• Ensure food safety and safety guidelines are followed.
