Job summary

SpartanNash is seeking a Customer Service Manager for Byron Center, MI. You will lead daily store department operations, train staff, manage scheduling and inventory, and ensure product freshness and quality across the team.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Two years of retail experience preferred.
• One-year supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication.
• Bookkeeping skills and ability to manage store paperwork.
• Organization, prioritization and decision-making abilities.
• Leadership in a hands-on retail environment.
• Knowledge of retail store operations; familiarity with management systems.
• Spanish language skills are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day department operations in a retail store.
• Train and develop associates; manage staffing and scheduling.
• Review and validate orders; ensure product freshness and quality.
• Manage inventory control and rotation; handle damaged items per guidelines.
• Keep the department stocked, clean, and aligned with store standards.
• Oversee promotions, pricing, and adherence to rewards programs.
• Conduct daily huddles, meetings, and participate in district/company meetings.
• Ensure safety and food safety guidelines are followed.
• Develop and monitor department goals and forecasts.
