Talbots in Upper Montclair, NJ is seeking an experienced leader for a Regular/Full-time store operations role. You will guide a team, deliver hospitality, and drive sales through excellent service and smart merchandising.

The position requires coordinating floor sets, coaching associates, and upholding brand standards while maintaining a welcoming shop environment. Open 40-hour schedule, including weekends/holidays, with POS/iPad proficiency.

Qualifications

• Two or more years of specialty retail leadership focused on store operations or visual merchandising.
• Professional, ethical, and respectful with strong customer focus.
• Able to coach and mentor team members and communicate clearly.
• Comfortable using POS/iPad/handheld systems.

Responsibilities

• Create a culture of hospitality and foster enduring customer relationships.
• Provide exceptional service to promote products and build brand relationships.
• Meet sales and service metrics through clientelling and outreach.
• Lead the team with ownership of all areas of operations.
• Plan and lead floor sets, displays, recalls, markdowns, and interior marketing.
• Educate and reinforce brand standards and company policies.
• Balance operational needs with selling energy and plan schedules effectively.
• Stay aware of trends and competitive landscape to drive sales.
• Ensure compliance with policies and employment laws.
• Build positive working relationships for a productive environment.
