Job summary

PetSmart Store Support Group, Inc. is seeking a Retail Operations Manager to drive store-level operational excellence, overseeing merchandising, inventory, pet care, and financial outcomes while leading a team of associates.

The role requires 3+ years in retail leadership, full-time availability, and strong communication. You will ensure safety, adherence to policies, and a positive customer and pet-parent experience across the store.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of retail leadership or experience in a customer-focused environment.
• Full-time availability required, flexibility in schedule, able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Proficiency in computer applications.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to react under pressure and maintain composure.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Participates in employment decisions such as recruiting, interviewing, and coaching.
• Facilitates the associate experience and supports associate development; including onboarding, reviews, labor management, mentoring, and coaching for accountability.
• Address and administer associate complaints and grievances.
• Prioritize, delegate, and validate daily tasks for associates to meet business needs.
• Lead and coach associates on operational processes to ensure pets in our care are safe and healthy.
• Oversee staffing coverage for process activities across store areas.
• Communicate company information and priorities to associates to ensure alignment.
• Recognize and celebrate associates driving engagement.
• Oversee inventory management and pricing processes, including counts and planogram execution.
• Ensure store standards and policies are followed, maintaining a safe environment for associates and pets.
