Job summary

PetSmart is seeking a Retail Operations Manager to drive store-level operational excellence. You will oversee merchandising, inventory, pet care operations, and lead associates to achieve financial outcomes while maintaining a safe, organized store environment.

Responsibilities include staffing, coaching, and ensuring compliance with policies, procedures, and safety standards across the store. This role requires strong leadership and a focus on customer service and store presentation.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of retail leadership or experience in a customer-focused environment.
• Full-time availability required, flexibility in schedule, able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Proficiency in computer applications.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to react under pressure and maintain composure.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, particularly in maintaining a visually appealing store layout.

Responsibilities

• Participates in employment decisions such as recruiting, interviewing, and coaching.
• Facilitates the associate experience and supports associate development; including onboarding, reviews, labor management, and coaching.
• Address and administer associate complaints and grievances.
• Prioritize, delegate, and validate daily tasks for associates to meet business needs.
• Lead and coach associates on proper operational processes to ensure safe and healthy pets.
• Coordinates staffing coverage for pivotal store activities.
• Validates completion of operational messages and engagement video compliance.
• Effectively communicates company priorities to associates to ensure alignment.
• Maintains store standards and leads a culture of empowerment with policy compliance.
