Job summary

PetSmart’s Process Leader (Retail Operations Manager) role drives operational excellence across merchandising, inventory, pet care, and daily store leadership. This position requires supervising up to 3 lead associates and up to 40 non-leader associates, guiding staffing, training, and performance while ensuring a safe, compliant store environment.

The role emphasizes people leadership, execution of P&L goals, and a strong focus on customer service, store standards, and strategic merchandising

Qualifications

• 3+ years of retail leadership or experience in a customer-focused environment.
• Full-time availability; flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Proficiency in computer applications.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to react under pressure and maintain composure.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in store visuals.

Responsibilities

• Participates in employment decisions such as recruiting, interviewing, and coaching.
• Facilitates the associate experience and supports associate development; ensures associates are trained across the store, onboarding, reviews, labor management, mentoring, and coaching for accountability.
• Address and administer associate complaints and grievances and ensure task delegation.
• Lead and coach associates on proper operational processes to keep pets safe and healthy.
• Oversee inventory management, pricing processes, and merchandising accuracy; ensure store standards.
