Job summary

Brooks is seeking an Assistant Retail Store Manager, Back-of-House (BOH) Operations in Seattle to oversee daily store operations, inventory flow, and staff training. You’ll partner with the Retail Store Manager and Assistant Store Manager, FOH to drive revenue and ensure premium service.

You’ll train the team on store operations, POS, and product knowledge, coach for exceptional customer service, and help connect with runners of all backgrounds to keep Brooks moving forward.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent experience in Sales, Marketing, or related field.
• 3+ years retail experience, inventory management preferred.
• 1+ year leadership experience in retail.
• Knowledge of retail math, inventory management, turn, gross‑margin, open‑to‑buy, product merchandising, and retail selling skills.
• Knowledge of performance athletic footwear/apparel and related technologies.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Demonstrates initiative and ability to improve processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead BOH operation to achieve budgeted revenue and profit goals.
• Drive inventory efficiency and maximize sales by maintaining ideal inventory levels.
• Manage labor spend through educated scheduling choices.
• Coach, develop, and manage performance of the store team to provide premium service.
• Encourage an environment of excitement about running and storytelling.
• Create store schedules for effective staffing.
• Monitor cleaning and operations supplies and place supply orders.
• Place inventory orders and partner with Distribution Center during PTO.
• Manage receipt and return of inventory and back-end unsellable items.
• Lead seasonal product flips with Store Manager and Visual Merchandising.
• Maintain expert product knowledge and train staff.
• Facilitate quarterly product training for sales associates.
• Work the sales floor with product storytelling and sell-through focus.
• Provide regular feedback to Store Manager on store performance.
