Job summary

PetSmart is seeking a Retail Operations Lead to drive store excellence, focusing on merchandising, inventory management, and pet care operations.

You will supervise and develop associates, ensure an outstanding guest experience, and uphold policies while opening and closing the store. This hands-on role requires a proactive leader aligned with PetSmart's culture and performance standards.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of retail supervisory experience in a customer-focused environment.
• Full-time availability; evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Proficiency in computer applications.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to react under pressure and maintain composure.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in maintaining a visually appealing store layout.

Responsibilities

• Support and guide sales associates in merchandise handling and training on product knowledge and presentation standards.
• Delegate and validate daily tasks; lead when acting as Leader on Duty.
• Address and administer associate complaints and grievances.
• Execute merchandise strategies to optimize sales, including product receiving, placement, displays, and promotions.
• Manage inventory levels, conduct audits, and analyze sales trends for stock replenishment and markdowns.
• Operate POS systems and handle cash transactions following policies.
• Maintain store standards and uphold Policies, Procedures, and Code of Ethics.
• Lead opening and closing procedures and monthly live cycle counts.
• Ensure pet care maintenance, cleanliness, and safety for pets in our care.
