Job summary

PetSmart’s Process Lead (Retail Operations Lead) drives operational excellence in stores, overseeing merchandising, inventory, pet care operations, and opening/closing duties. This role supervises and mentors associates, ensuring a safe, organized environment aligned with PetSmart’s mission and values.

Responsibilities include merchandise execution, inventory audits, POS operations, and maintaining brand standards while guiding a positive, service-focused customer experience.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of retail supervisory experience in a customer-focused environment.
• Full-time availability required, flexibility in schedule, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Proficiency in computer applications.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to react under pressure and maintain composure.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, especially in store layout.

Responsibilities

• Lead and guide sales associates in merchandise handling and product knowledge.
• Support associate development including training, onboarding, mentoring, and coaching for growth.
• Delegate and validate completion of daily tasks; act as Leader on duty when needed.
• Oversee store opening/closing procedures and ensure brand standards and ethics compliance.
• Manage merchandise strategies, inventory levels, audits, and stock replenishment.
• Operate POS systems, handle cash, and ensure accuracy and policy compliance.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and visually appealing store environment.
