Job summary

PetSmart’s Process Lead (Retail Operations Lead) has shared responsibility to drive operational excellence in our stores while upholding the company’s vision, mission, values, and strategy. This role is responsible for merchandising and inventory management, pet care operations, opening and/or closing the store, overseeing associates, and maintaining a safe and organized environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2+ years of retail supervisory experience in a customer-focused environment.
• Full-time availability; ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Proficient with computer applications and POS systems.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and strong organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor sales associates in merchandise handling and product knowledge.
• Support associate development through training, onboarding, coaching and feedback.
• Oversee daily tasks, delegate work, and act as leader on duty when required.
• Ensure accurate merchandise placement, promotions, and store standards.
• Operate POS systems, handle cash transactions, and ensure policy compliance.
• Conduct monthly live cycle counts and address discrepancies.
