Job summary

PetSmart’s Process Lead (Retail Operations Lead) is responsible for driving operational excellence in stores, including merchandising, inventory control, pet care operations, and opening/closing duties. You will oversee associates, ensure safety and a clean environment, and uphold company standards and ethics.

The role emphasizes leading by example, coaching staff, and maintaining strong customer experiences while ensuring accuracy in POS transactions and inventory management.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of retail supervisory experience in a customer-focused environment.
• Full-time availability required, flexibility in schedule, able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Proficiency in computer applications.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to react under pressure and maintain composure.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, particularly in maintaining a visually appealing store layout.

Responsibilities

• Lead and train associates in merchandise handling, product knowledge, and presentation standards.
• Guide and develop associates, including training, onboarding, mentoring, and coaching for growth.
• Delegate and verify daily tasks and, when acting as leader on duty, supervise operations.
• Address associate concerns and recognize engagement to drive morale.
• Execute merchandising strategies, manage product receiving, placement, displays, and promotions.
• Maintain inventory records, conduct stock audits, and analyze sales trends for replenishment and markdowns.
• Operate POS systems and handle cash with accuracy and policy compliance.
