Northern Tool + Equipment is seeking an Operations Manager to lead store operations, ensuring a smooth experience for customers and employees. You will supervise cashiers and stockers, hire and train staff, and protect inventory while maintaining a safe, clean, and well-stocked store.

You will work under the Store Manager's guidance to optimize processes, reduce shrinkage, and act as MOD during shifts. This role requires leadership, strong customer service, and problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent required; 2 years of college or related technical training preferred.
• 2 years of related retail experience.
• Previous supervisory experience preferred.
• Ability to lead, guide and mentor store employees.
• Strong customer service, decision-making and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of tools and equipment appreciated, but not required.
• Ability to lift up to 70 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Deliver knowledgeable customer service while maintaining a store that is clean, safe, and stocked with the products our customers want and need.
• Manage a team of Cashiers and Stockers to drive efficiencies in inventory, merchandising, safety, asset protection, cashiering and money handling.
• Under guidance from the Store Manager, facilitate the hiring process, training and performance management for Cashier and Stocking Associates.
• Actively seek to minimize shrinkage of inventory and protect the store against shoplifting and internal theft.
• Serve as Manager on Duty (MOD) as assigned, including opening and closing the store according to established policies and procedures.
