Job summary

Peoples Bank is seeking an Operations Specialist in Retail Banking to elevate operational consistency and drive continuous improvement. You will collaborate with leaders across regions, resolve issues, and embed robust processes into day-to-day practice.

The role requires 3–5 years in banking, strong communication, and problem-solving skills. Travel across the footprint and occasional overnight stays are expected.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or equivalent work experience.
• 3 to 5 years' experience in related banking field.
• Phone skills and professional demeanor.
• Ability to function in a fast-paced and detail-oriented environment.
• Proven ability to identify, prioritize, and resolve operational exceptions.
• Ability to work with limited supervision.
• Positive and professional attitude.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• PC literacy with MS Word and Excel.
• Must be a decision-maker with strong interpersonal skills.
• Prior supervisory or management experience (1–3 years) or strong contributor background.
• Travel across footprint including overnights.

Responsibilities

• Solve problems and collaborate with partners to meet deliverables following policies.
• Identify operational challenges and propose resolutions.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to mitigate risk and monitor outcomes.
• Understand processes, controls, and risk dynamics; educate affected staff.
• Partner with Fraud and Compliance to identify risks and strengthen protections.
• Maintain a risk register with high-priority threats and mitigations.
• Coordinate monthly/quarterly Universal Banker Operations meetings.
• Reduce escalations through clear policies and training.
• Communicate issues and remediation status to regional leaders.
• Eliminate duplication and ensure regional consistency across operations.
• Perform special projects as assigned.
