Fred Meyer, Inc. is seeking a dedicated loss prevention professional to help prevent and reduce loss from bad debt, cash over/short and civil liabilities while maintaining high standards of safety and customer service.

The role requires a background in criminal justice, retail security or related law enforcement experience, and the ability to pass a drug test. Candidates must be prepared to work varied shifts, including weekends, and uphold corporate policies and confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in criminal justice.
• Retail security experience.
• Law enforcement experience.
• High school diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Minimum 18 years of age (21 years in Alaska).
• Ability to pass a drug test.
• Familiarity with loss prevention terms and processes.

Responsibilities

• Detect, deter and/or detain external theft suspects.
• Reduce theft by initiating actions to prevent external and internal theft.
• Monitor large shrink areas in stores.
• Report incidents to the asset protection manager.
• Provide credible court testimony.
• Identify areas of high theft.
• Promote and follow company initiatives.
• Maintain flexibility to work any shift, overtime and weekends.
• Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation.
