Job summary

Fred Meyer is seeking a Loss Prevention professional to prevent and reduce loss, safeguard assets, and uphold the company’s policies and laws. You will model Customer 1st behavior and lead by example in integrity and safety across the store.

Key duties include detecting theft, monitoring large shrink areas, reporting incidents, providing training, and maintaining flexibility to work any shift, overtime, and weekends. Strong knowledge of retail security and MS Office is preferred.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Fred Meyer policies, procedures and organizational structure.
• Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice or equivalent.
• Retail security experience and law enforcement background.
• High school diploma or GED or equivalent experience.
• Ability to pass a drug test and maintain confidentiality.
• Proficient in organizing and prioritizing tasks.

Responsibilities

• Prevent and reduce loss due to bad debt, cash over/short and civil liabilities; reduce shrink and improve margins.
• Demonstrate the company’s core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion and safety.
• Model Customer 1st behavior; deliver and encourage others to deliver excellent customer service.
• Detect, deter and/or detain external theft suspects.
• Reduce customer and associate dishonesty by initiating and encouraging actions to prevent theft.
• Monitor large shrink areas in stores.
• Report incidents to the asset protection manager.
• Support customer and associate relations through communication and training.
• Provide credible court testimony.
• Identify areas of high theft.
• Verify compliance with corporate policies.
• Promote and follow company initiatives.
• Maintain flexibility to work any shift, overtime and weekends.
