Job summary

Meijer in Michigan is seeking a customer-focused team member to help operate the department and deliver exceptional shopping experiences. You will guide daily tasks, mentor peers, and ensure the department meets Meijer standards while upholding safety and quality.

You’ll engage with customers, communicate effectively with coworkers, and support scheduling, training, and inventory processes to drive sales and service excellence across the store.

Qualifications

• Passion for customer service and total engagement.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Retail or other customer service experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Engage peers to provide the best possible shopping experience.
• Communicate with team and assign daily tasks.
• Mentor and coach team members to exceed sales goals and training.
• Assist training new hires and cross-training.
• Help with department scheduling to improve service and profitability.
• Ensure product freshness by rotation and dating policies.
• Guide food safety compliance and safe work practices.
• Lead ordering, receiving, stocking, pricing, and displays.
• Promote Meijer culture, diversity, equity, and inclusion.
• Operate a register and handle cash when needed.
• Assist with inventories and period-end counts.
• May lead in other departments as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.
