Responsibilities

• Engage peers to provide the best possible shopping experience, including checkout
• Communicate with team members and assign daily tasks
• Mentor and coach team members to meet service and sales goals
• Support training and cross-training of staff
• Assist with department scheduling to boost engagement, service and profitability
• Ensure product freshness through rotation and dating controls
• Guide food safety compliance and safe work practices
• Oversee ordering, receiving, stocking, pricing and display where applicable
• Foster Meijer culture, diversity, equity and inclusion
• Operate register and handle cash when needed
• Use powered equipment where applicable
• Participate in period end inventories
• Lead in other departments when required
• Perform other duties as assigned
