Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking an IT Specialist to lead the administration, support, security, and continuous improvement of our technology infrastructure across corporate and retail locations. You will be the primary technical resource for network, cybersecurity, end-user support, POS systems, telecommunications, and store technology platforms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in IT or related field preferred.
• 3–5 years IT infrastructure and end-user tech support experience.
• Experience supporting retail, convenience store, hospitality, or multi-location environments preferred.

Responsibilities

• Administer and maintain LAN, WAN, wireless, VPN, and cloud-connected networks.
• Install, configure, and support routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
• Monitor network health, performance, and security; apply patches and updates.
• Serve as primary escalation point for help desk tickets; troubleshoot hardware, software, and connectivity issues.
• Configure and deploy workstations, mobile devices, printers, and peripherals; onboard/offboard employees.
• Document procedures and provide training on security and tech best practices.
• Administer POS systems, back office software, store tech platforms; support loyalty interfaces.
• Manage store security cameras, video systems, and vendor coordination.
• Coordinate store and corporate connectivity; review vendor performance and contracts.
• Train leaders on tech issues; develop user guides and SOPs; manage asset inventories.
