Job summary

Meijer Inc. is seeking a General Merchandise Team Leader in Michigan to oversee daily store operations, mentor staff, and drive sales while maintaining exceptional customer service.

You will manage staffing, training, and performance while upholding company standards and a safe work environment. Qualified candidates bring at least a high school diploma, 2–3 years retail experience, and at least 1 year in a leadership role; strong communication and problem-solving skills are essential for success

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2–3 years of related retail experience.
• One year of management experience.
• Ability to communicate clearly within the organization.
• Demonstrated conflict resolution and multi-tasking abilities.
• Ability to analyze financial and statistical information to make decisions.
• Successful completion of required certifications.

Responsibilities

• Plans, directs and supervises team members in daily store operations.
• Mentors and coaches team members; identifies development needs.
• Drives customer service, sales and efficiency while meeting customer needs.
• Maintains store appearance, product presentation and standards.
• Oversees staffing, recruiting and hiring to meet needs.
• Ensures safety and adherence to company policies and procedures.
