Job summary

Ohio Valley Goodwill Industries is seeking a Retail General Manager to lead store operations in Cincinnati. The role covers production, merchandising, customer service, inventory, and staff leadership to drive revenue and maintain standards.

The GM will manage budgeting, staffing, payroll, and reporting, while ensuring compliance with safety and state laws. Strong communication, problem-solving, and a commitment to excellent customer service are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent; some college preferred.
• 5+ years retail or equivalent experience; 2–3 years in progressive retail management.
• Full Profit & Loss ownership and budgeting responsibilities.
• Strong English communication and interpersonal skills; ability to train and coach staff.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily retail store operations including opening/closing procedures.
• Manage production levels, merchandise quality, and inventory control to optimize revenue.
• Set and adjust staff schedules; maintain payroll within budget.
• Monitor donations flow, security, safety, and compliance with state laws.
• Provide training, coaching, and performance feedback to store staff; oversee volunteers.
• Prepare and analyze reports (sales, production, surveys) and adjust operations accordingly.
• Communicate with divisions and other stores to maintain coordination and quality of service.
• Maintain a customer-focused environment and address complaints promptly.
