Job summary

City of Westminster seeks a Business Navigator to support the Economic Development and Housing Division. The role focuses on attracting, retaining and expanding local retailers and restaurants, providing technical assistance, and building strong relationships with property owners, brokers, developers, and business partners.

Responsibilities include outreach, CRM tracking of interactions, and guiding businesses through City processes to foster a vibrant retail environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Management, Entrepreneurship, or closely related field.
• Minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience in local government, business development, entrepreneur support, or economic development.
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Supports the Economic Development and Housing Division by providing technical support to existing and new businesses
• Conducts businesses outreach with special focus to retail and restaurants
• Assists businesses by helping them navigate City processes while providing a high level of customer service
• Develops and maintains a professional network that contributes to a better understanding of trends and best practices for business support and advocacy
• Interfaces with retail/service businesses, attracts regional retail development, analyzes trade areas, attends conferences, develops relationships with brokers and property managers
