Job summary

Proactive Community Services is seeking a Housing Navigator to assist individuals and families facing housing instability. You will assess housing needs, develop stabilization plans, and help participants navigate housing options and resources.

The role requires engagement with participants, landlords, property managers, and community partners to address barriers and coordinate housing-related assistance. Travel within PCS’s service area and occasional evening or community-based work may be

Qualifications

• Knowledge of affordable housing resources and housing assistance programs.
• Working knowledge of landlord-tenant relationships, Fair Housing principles, rental applications, leases, and housing barriers.
• Strong participant advocacy, engagement, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to establish professional relationships with landlords and property managers.
• Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to maintain accurate documentation and meet grant reporting deadlines.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and electronic case-management/database systems.
• Knowledge of trauma-informed and participant-centered service delivery.

Responsibilities

• Assist individuals and families in identifying housing resources and stabilization plans.
• Collaborate with landlords, housing providers, and community partners to address barriers.
• Provide follow-up to support successful housing outcomes and referrals.
• Engage participants with empathy, advocacy, and action planning.
• Maintain documentation and assist with grant reporting requirements.
