Cavender’s in Tyler, TX is seeking a Department Manager to support our store management team by driving sales, coaching associates, and leading training to meet department and store goals.

You will supervise cashiers and sales staff, ensure the store is clean and compliant with company standards, and lead loss prevention while maintaining a safe, engaging shopping environment for customers. This role requires strong English communication and a hands-on approach to daily operations.

Responsibilities

• Support Cavender’s Culture and drive Mission, Vision, and Values.
• Perform tasks of a Cashier, Sales Associate and Key Carrier.
• Maintain active role in personal selling and meet sales per hour goals.
• Act as Manager on Duty; open/close store as directed.
• Lead day-to-day management and supervise store associates to deliver Best of the WEST service.
• Address customer complaints; handle returns and exchanges.
• Increase sales, maintain profit structure, reduce expenses using metrics.
• Lead training on sales techniques and product knowledge.
• Keep store clean and well-presented; enforce appearance standards.
• Understand and enforce company policies; participate in Loss Prevention.
• Track department performance; contribute to store goals for sales and payroll.
• Monitor timecard exceptions and handle personnel matters.
• Provide safe, secure environment and report incidents.
• Assist leadership with storewide initiatives and other duties as assigned.
