Job summary

Family Dollar in Springfield, MA is seeking a Customer Service Associate to help customers, process transactions, and keep the store organized and welcoming.

You will assist with stocking, merchandise handling, and maintaining a clean, safe shopping environment. Prior retail or customer service experience is preferred; the job may require lifting up to 50 lbs and standing for extended periods.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous customer service experience in retail, hotel, restaurant, grocery, or drug store environment preferred.
• Ability to follow instructions and interpret operational documents.
• Must be able to lift between 30 and 50 lbs and meet demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting.
• Excellent customer service and relationship management skills required.
• Strong organizational and communication skills required.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills required.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with questions and recommendations.
• Manage sales transactions at cash register.
• Maintain security of cash and protect company assets.
• Keep the store well-stocked and recover merchandise.
• Receive merchandise and help with unloading trucks.
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment.
• Maintain store cleanliness, including bathrooms, floors, and overall neatness.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
