Job summary

Little General is seeking a Customer Service Representative to be the store's main customer contact. The role includes handling sales, stocking, cleanliness, and safety, with age verification for tobacco, lottery, and alcohol.

Responsibilities include greeting customers, upselling, operating the cash register, following payment systems, and promoting loyalty programs while maintaining store standards and security.

Qualifications

• Must be able to speak, read and write in English.
• Must be minimum eighteen (18) years of age to sell tobacco, lottery products and alcohol.

Responsibilities

• Present a well-groomed, professional image at all times.
• Greet and welcome all customers with a smile.
• Help customers locate product(s) whenever necessary.
• Upsell related products when appropriate.
• Record all sales and collect payment with correct change.
• Understand and follow all approved payment systems and transaction processes.
• Follow state laws regarding lottery, alcohol and tobacco sales.
• Promote enrollment in Loyalty Programs (Plenti, BP, etc.).
• Observe property and report suspicious activity to the Manager on duty.
• Monitor gas pumps to prevent theft and report incidents.
• Report malfunctioning equipment or systems to the Manager on duty.
• Stock coolers and shelves with properly priced products.
• Maintain sanitary conditions in all food service areas.
• Participate in cleaning and maintaining a safe store.
• Adhere to security and emergency protocols.
• Report customer accidents to the Manager on Duty.
• Adhere to Little General policies.
• Complete Daily Shift Report.
