Job summary

Family Dollar is seeking a Customer Service Associate to provide a positive shopping experience. You will assist customers, handle transactions at the register, and keep the store well-stocked and clean.

The role emphasizes customer service, teamwork, and following store procedures. Part-time hours are common, with physical duties including lifting up to 50 lbs and standing for extended periods. Training and growth opportunities are available.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Previous customer service experience in retail or similar settings is highly preferred.
• Ability to follow instructions and interpret operational documents.
• Must be able to lift 30–50 lbs and handle frequent walking and standing.
• Excellent customer service and relationship management skills are required.
• Strong organizational and communication skills are required.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with questions and recommendations.
• Manage sales transactions at the cash register.
• Maintain security of cash and protect company assets.
• Keep the store well-stocked and recover merchandise.
• Receive merchandise and assist with unloading trucks and stock replenishment.
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment for customers and staff.
• Maintain cleanliness throughout the store, including bathrooms and floors.
• Other duties as assigned.
