Job summary

Spencer Savings Bank in Elmwood Park, NJ seeks a VP/Retail Business Development Officer to cultivate Centers of Influence and drive profitable commercial relationships, including non-interest bearing deposits, cash management, and lending opportunities.

The role requires at least 5 years as a Business Banking Officer, excellent communication and sales skills, and proficiency with Microsoft Office. This is a full-time, on-site position supporting Retail Administration.

Qualifications

• College degree or equivalent education/experience.
• Formal small business credit training a plus.
• Minimum of 5 years as a Business Banking Officer at a commercial bank.
• Excellent communication, organizational and sales skills required.
• Basic knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet software required.
• Goal oriented, self-motivated, initiative and team player.

Responsibilities

• Cultivate COIs to refer to non-interest bearing DDA and cash management opportunities.
• Gathers and presents loan packages for underwriting with financials and history.
• Develop and implement an annual business development plan.
• Build relationships through COIs, events, prospecting and telemarketing.
• Cross-sell BankingPlus, Merchant and Cash Management.
• Track and report business development activities monthly.
• Participate in branch sales meetings and cross-functional calls with lenders.
• Provide feedback to management on service and retail sales issues.
• Keep informed on products, market conditions and competition.
• Perform other duties as required.
