Job summary

The Salvation Army Thrift Store in New Haven, IN is seeking a part-time Retail Associate. Earn $13.50 per hour and join a new store team opening soon to support community programs with friendly service and a welcoming shopping experience.

Responsibilities include greeting customers, operating the register, processing donations, pricing merchandise, and keeping the store clean. Training provided, with evenings, weekends, and holidays as scheduled.

Qualifications

• Experience in retail or customer service preferred.
• Attention to detail and strong math skills.
• Ability to operate a point of sale system and basic computer skills.

What You’ll Do

• Greet customers & donors and provide friendly, helpful service
• Operate the register and process sales transactions accurately
• Assist donors with donations according to center policy
• Sort, process, hang, tag, price, and prepare donated merchandise
• Move priced merchandise to the sales floor, display areas, or other designated locations.
• Keep the store clean, safe, and organized
• Work with team members to support daily sales and production goals
• Other duties as assigned

• Ability to provide friendly customer service
• Reliable attendance and punctuality

• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed

• Ability to bend, reach, and lift or move merchandise throughout the day
• High school diploma or currently pursuing

• Previous retail, cashier, customer service, or thrift store experience
• Experience using a point of sale system
