Job summary

Dollar Tree Stores is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help with store operations, customer service and team development. You will assist with day-to-day store activities and lead by example to ensure a positive shopping experience.

This role requires strong communication, the ability to lift up to 55 lbs, and a track record of supervising store associates in a fast-paced retail environment. We offer part-time hours and opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; ability to read, interpret, and explain directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform frequent walking, standing, and bending.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment; customer-focused.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom and sales floor; maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays for maximum effectiveness.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged items, record keeping, and loss prevention.
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines; ensure staff follows procedures.
• Assist the Store Manager in supervising, training, and developing Store Associates.
• Foster a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and team.
• Maintain cleanliness of the store, bathrooms, floors, trash, and overall presentation.
• Other duties as assigned.
