Job summary

Dollar Tree Stores INC is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service and team development. You will help with opening/closing, merchandise flow, scheduling, and loss prevention while maintaining a safe, friendly environment.

The role emphasizes staff coaching, strong communication, and hands-on merchandising in a fast-paced retail setting. This is a full-time, on-site position with competitive hourly pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. and perform physical duties (walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling).
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor.
• Perform opening and closing procedures.
• Assist in payroll, scheduling, cash handling, and loss prevention.
• Lead and develop Store Associates under the Store Manager.
• Maintain a clean, well-stocked store and secure assets.
