Job summary

The Salvation Army USA Western Territory's Poway Thrift Store is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help lead daily operations and deliver a great donor and customer experience. You will partner with the Store Manager, coach staff, maintain ARC merchandising standards, manage cash handling, and ensure safety and compliance.

This is a full-time role with opportunities for growth within a mission-driven organization.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years retail management/supervisory experience.
• Valid Driver's license with proof of insurance.
• Must pass background check (Criminal History & Sex Offender Registry).
• Ability to communicate effectively with management, staff, customers, and donors.
• Physical demands include lifting up to 50 lbs and ability to move, sit, stand as needed.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Store Manager in day-to-day store operations.
• Manage store operations in Store Manager's absence.
• Provide coaching, training, and development to store employees.
• Ensure customer/donor relations and quick, efficient service.
• Report personnel issues to Management; may issue disciplinary actions.
• Maintain ARC Merchandising Standards and inventory levels.
• Oversee Back Room Processing in absence of Store Manager.
• Safeguard cash and banking per ARC policy.
• Support safety measures and loss prevention.
• Other duties as assigned by Management and Retail Directors.
