Job description

Retail Assistant Store Manager

$16.00 to $19.00 per hour. Commission structure pays up to 8% on transactions, providing additional earnings on top of the hourly rate.

Position Summary

Assistant Store Manager responsible for day‑to‑day operations, leading and developing employees, recruiting and retaining talent, maximizing financial goals, and managing customer relations. Works with the Store Manager to analyze financial statements and ensure goals are met, while committing to asset protection, brand promotion, and new customer acquisition.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate a customer‑centric environment, engage customers, and address issues promptly.
• Monitor and assist in training Pawnbrokers to meet FirstCash standards.
• Recruit top talent through company‑prescribed channels.
• Open and close the store, count cash drawers, and ensure asset protection procedures are followed.
• Maintain inventory control, property safety, documentation, and secure customer loans.
• Administer store processes: inventory, loan management, merchandising, presentation, store systems, and reporting.
• Evaluate financial statements and drive profitability through communication and goal setting.
• Ensure operating standards meet or exceed FirstCash standards.
• Monitor loan qualification and buying processes to maintain value and integrity.
• Complete assigned tasks and training for self‑development.
• Communicate clearly with employees about the store’s mission and profit objectives.
• Stay updated on product knowledge.
• Act as manager on duty in the absence of the Store Manager.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements & Qualifications

• Willing and able to perform duties for extended periods, lift and carry up to 50 lbs, and stand, stoop, walk, climb, push, pull as required.
• Demonstrated supervisory ability.
• Ability to work with firearms and obtain firearms certification.
• May be required to assist customers in parking lots or exterior storage areas.
• Minimum age: 18 years.
• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
• Flexible to work in multiple locations as business needs dictate.
• Willing to work a flexible retail schedule, including weekends and holidays.
• Will work 40+ hours per week; hours are not guaranteed.
• Computer literate, able to operate POS systems and common office machines.
• Ability to multitask in a fast‑paced environment.
• Detail‑oriented with strong organizational skills.
• Analytical skills.
• Cash handling experience required.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Commission Plan

The plan is proprietary to FirstCash. Assistant Store Managers may earn 2–8% commission based on gross profit of personal performance. Detailed information is provided during the interview process.
