Job description

Retail Assistant Store Manager

$17.00 to $20.00 per hour
Retail sales associates can earn up to 8% on transactions, adding an average of $3.24 per hour on top of the hourly rate.

Position Summary

We are seeking an Assistant Store Manager with a minimum of six months of management or equivalent experience. Assistant Store Managers oversee day-to-day store operations, partner with the Store Manager to lead and develop employees, recruit and retain talent, and manage financial and customer relations to maximize store performance. They also analyze financial statements, ensure asset protection, promote the business, and acquire new customers.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate a customer‑centric environment by engaging customers warmly and resolving issues promptly.
• Train Pawnbrokers to meet FirstCash standards.
• Recruit top talent through company‑prescribed channels.
• Open and close the store, including cash drawer and merchandise counts.
• Ensure asset protection through inventory control and safe procedures.
• Administer store processes such as inventory, loan management, merchandising, and systems reporting.
• Evaluate financial statements and drive profitability with clear communication and goal setting.
• Maintain operational standards meeting or exceeding FirstCash requirements.
• Monitor loan qualification and buying processes to preserve loan value and integrity.
• Complete assigned tasks and training for self‑development.
• Communicate clearly with employees to align them with the store’s mission and goals.
• Stay current on product knowledge.
• Act as manager on duty in the absence of the Store Manager.
• Other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements & Qualifications

• Must be willing and physically able to perform mandatory duties, including standing, stooping, walking, climbing, pushing, pulling, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Demonstrated supervisory ability.
• Availability to work flexible retail schedules, including weekends and holidays.
• Ability to work in multiple locations as business needs dictate.
• Computer literate and able to operate Point‑of‑Sale (POS) systems and common office equipment.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and multitasking skills.
• Cash handling experience required.
• Independent worker with a strong work ethic and business sense.
• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum age 18 years.
• Willingness to work with firearms and obtain certification if required.

Commission Plan Information

Assistant Store Managers have the potential to earn 2–8% commission based on the gross profit of their personal performance. Detailed information will be provided during the interview process.
