Job summary

GPM Investments, LLC, operating Scotchman convenience stores in Wilmington, NC, is seeking an Assistant Manager. You will support the Store Manager, supervise daily operations, assist customers, and help drive sales while ensuring a safe, clean, and welcoming store environment.

Open availability, weekend/holiday shifts, and second or third shifts are required. Weekly pay, bonus potential, 401(k), PTO, insurance, and a clear path to store leadership are offered.

Qualifications

• Open availability to work weekends, holidays, and likely second or third shifts.
• Reliable transportation with valid driver's license and insurance to complete bank deposits.
• Physical readiness for cleaning, stocking, and outside areas like fuel pumps.
• Minimum age 18+.
• Proficient English communication and basic math.
• Willing to learn and obtain a Food Safety Certification.

Responsibilities

• Support the Store Manager in day‑to‑day operations.
• Run the register and assist customers with speed and accuracy.
• Coach and motivate team to upsell products and promotions.
• Help hire, train, and lead a high‑performing team.
• Step in as acting manager when the Store Manager is off.
• Manage inventory, ordering, and merchandising to stay stocked.
• Maintain a clean, welcoming store including restrooms and pumps.
• Create and manage team schedules for full coverage.
• Perform daily cash handling and deposits.
• Provide feedback to motivate the team to excel.
