Job summary

GPM Investments’ Scotchman store in Wilmington, NC is seeking an Assistant Manager to lead daily operations and guest experience. Open availability for weekends and holidays, with second or third shift coverage, is required.

You will supervise staff, coach upsell initiatives, and ensure inventory, merchandising, and cash handling are performed to standard. You’ll support the Store Manager, hire/train a capable team, and maintain a clean, inviting environment, including restrooms and pumps.

Qualifications

• Open availability for weekends, holidays and varied shifts.
• Reliable transportation with valid license and insurance.
• Physical readiness for cleaning and stocking tasks.
• Clear English communication and basic math skills.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to store procedures.
• Food Safety Certification (or ability to obtain).

Responsibilities

• Support the Store Manager in day-to-day operations.
• Run the register and assist customers with speed, accuracy, and a great attitude.
• Coach and motivate team to upsell products and promotions.
• Help hire, train, and lead a high-performing team focused on customer service and store success.
• Act as manager when the Store Manager is off.
• Handle inventory, ordering, and merchandising to keep the store fully stocked.
• Maintain a clean, welcoming store, including restrooms, trash areas, and fuel pumps.
• Create and manage team schedules to ensure full coverage.
• Perform daily cash handling, deposits, and oversee store financials.
• Provide feedback and leadership that motivates your team to excel.
• Other duties as assigned.
