Job summary

GPM Investments is seeking a Sales Associate for Scotchman stores in Wilmington, NC. As a vital member of the team, you will run the register, keep the store clean, and assist customers with a friendly, safe shopping experience.

Responsibilities include greeting customers, handling sales, stocking shelves, maintaining restrooms and lot cleanliness, and cross-training in other departments. Weekend availability and a positive attitude are essential.

Qualifications

• Age 18 or older
• Weekend and holiday availability
• Able to stand for long periods indoors/outdoors in all weather
• English reading, writing, speaking
• Basic math (add/subtract/multiply/divide)
• Lift up to 50 lbs frequently, 10 lbs regularly
• Pass pre-employment drug screen and background check
• Friendly, punctual, reliable
• Flexible and able to handle multiple tasks in fast-paced environment
• Retail or customer service experience is a plus, not required

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and ring up purchases accurately and quickly
• Becomes an expert in lottery, cigarettes, and alcohol sales with age verification
• Upsell customers when possible to increase sales
• Keep store clean and safe inside and outside, including restrooms and gas pumps
• Stock shelves, coolers, and displays to keep merchandise fresh
• Maintain a clean entryways, windows, and floors
• Willing to cross-train in other departments, including deli
• Follow safety procedures and company policies
• Be a team player and help wherever needed
