Job summary

Madewell at Bloomington, MN is seeking an Assistant Manager within the J.Crew Group. You will lead with a focus on customer connection, brand loyalty, and community engagement while coaching the sales team to maximize performance.

As part of the leadership team, you’ll own key responsibilities across merchandising, operations, and service, partner with the Store Director, recruit and develop talent, ensure exceptional service, and create events that deepen loyalty.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of retail management experience with a similar scope.
• Stay up to date with fashion trends and industry developments.
• Must be able to bend, reach, stretch for product as well as lift, carry and move at least 40 pounds (18 kilos).

Responsibilities

• Support the Store Director & Associate Store Manager to directly impact business results with a meaningful connection to every aspect of the brand while maximizing profitability.
• Own your designated division of responsibility (Visual Merchandising, Operations, HR, Service & Selling, etc.).
• Manage store operations, systems, and technology while ensuring accountability.
• Assist with recruiting, training and development efforts, if needed.
• Partner to create a collaborative working environment for all associates.
• Ensure the team is always on track to exceed goals and provide best‑in‑class customer service.
• Lead fit sessions that boost product knowledge for associates to elevate authentic customer connection.
• Develop innovative ways to engage the community and build loyalty through events.
• Step into a variety of roles on the sales floor, if needed.
