Job summary

Madewell in Bloomington, MN is seeking an Assistant Manager to join our leadership team. You’ll drive profitability through genuine customer connections, brand loyalty, and strong community engagement while coaching the sales team to peak performance.

You will support the Store Director and manage divisions like Visual Merchandising, Operations, HR, and Service, ensuring smooth operations and exceptional service.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of retail management experience with a similar scope.
• Passionately support our brand, customers and teams.
• Stay up to date with current fashion trends and industry developments.
• Embrace teamwork, flexibility, and courtesy while executing tasks.
• Innovate and champion new ideas while navigating uncertainty, with strong problem-solving skills.
• Have scheduling flexibility, including nights, weekends and holidays.
• Must bend, reach, stretch and lift at least 40 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Support Store Director and Associate Store Manager to drive profitability and brand connection.
• Own division of responsibility (Visual Merchandising, Operations, HR, Service & Selling).
• Manage store operations, systems, and technology with accountability.
• Assist with recruiting, training and development as needed.
• Foster collaboration across the leadership team and associates.
• Ensure the team stays on track to meet goals and deliver great service.
• Lead product knowledge sessions to boost customer connection.
• Create community events to engage customers and build loyalty.
• Step into various sales floor roles when required.
