Madewell is seeking an Assistant Manager to join the leadership team and help drive profitability through genuine customer connections and strong brand loyalty. You will coach the sales team and collaborate with the leadership group to adapt strategies for business success and provide smooth operational support as needed.

You will oversee multiple areas such as Visual Merchandising, Operations, HR and customer service, ensuring accountability and a best-in-class experience for customers.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of retail management experience with a similar scope.
• Passionately support our brand, customers and teams.
• Stay up to date with fashion trends and industry developments.
• Embrace teamwork, flexibility and courtesy while executing tasks.
• Innovate and champion new ideas while navigating uncertainty; strong problem-solving.
• Scheduling flexibility, including nights, weekends and holidays.
• Must bend, reach, stretch for product and lift/move up to 40 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Support the Store Director & Associate Store Manager to drive profitability with brand connection.
• Own designated division: Visual Merchandising, Operations, HR, Service & Selling, etc.
• Manage store operations, systems and technology with accountability.
• Assist with recruiting, training and development efforts as needed.
• Collaborate to create a collaborative working environment for all associates.
• Ensure the team exceeds goals and delivers best-in-class customer service.
• Lead fit sessions to boost product knowledge and customer connection.
• Develop community engagement and loyalty through events.
• Step into various roles on the sales floor when needed.
