Madewell is seeking an Assistant Manager in Boston to help drive profitability through strong customer connections, brand loyalty, and community engagement. You will coach the sales team and collaborate with leadership to adapt strategies for business success and ensure smooth operational support as needed.

You will support recruiting, training, and development, own assigned divisions, and lead the team to exceed goals while delivering best-in-class service.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of retail management experience
• Passion for brand, customers, and teams
• Stay up to date with fashion trends
• Teamwork, flexibility, and courtesy while executing tasks
• Strong problem-solving skills and scheduling flexibility
• Must be able to bend, reach, lift and move up to 40 pounds

Responsibilities

• Support Store Director and Associate Store Manager to impact business results and profitability
• Own your division of responsibility (Visual Merchandising, Operations, HR, Service & Selling)
• Manage store operations, systems, and technology with accountability
• Assist with recruiting, training, and development as needed
• Foster a collaborative environment across the team
• Ensure the team exceeds goals and delivers best-in-class customer service
• Lead product knowledge sessions to boost authentic customer connections
• Develop community engagement and loyalty through events
• Step into various sales floor roles as needed
